Community InvolvementIn the year 2000, The Nemec Financial Group sponsored a golf tournament to fund surgery for a young child from Nicaragua. Since that time, we have turned this calling - to help desperately ill children with no other means - into a mission to provide medical care for children. This mission has evolved into the Worldwide Children's Foundation of New York, committed to providing life-saving or life-altering surgery to children in need. The Foundation identifies children in need and begins the complex arrangements to provide them with the necessary care. For a child outside the United States, The Worldwide Children's Foundation of New York (WWCF) was granted foundation status in 2002. Our Board of Directors comprises concerned citizens from the New York area who donate their time and resources for this noble cause. At WWCF, we understand how fortunate we are to live in a country where no child is denied critical medical care. We are aware that in many countries, children die because they do not have access to the medical expertise or facilities that we take for granted. That’s why we’re dedicated to providing medical care for disadvantaged children from all countries, regardless of ethnic or religious backgrounds.
Each year, the Northwestern Mutual foundation awards 25 financial representatives whose outstanding dedication to local organizations has significantly bettered their communities. In 2008, Alexander Conti, co-founder and board member of the WWCF and financial representative with the Nemec Financial Group, was awarded a $25,000 grant for the foundation as Most Exceptional Volunteer. In June of 2010, The Team Connor Cancer Foundation held its 6th annual "One Mile at a Time" Relay, a 3-day continuous run benefiting Team Connor.
